Bhanuka Rajapaksa was born on 24 October 1991 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. And he is a Sri Lankan cricketer, who plays internationally for Sri Lankan team. He is left hand batsman and right hand medium fast bowler. His role in the team is that of wicketkeeper batsman. Despite an illustrious domestic career, Rajapaksa got a chance to debut in international cricket ten years after his first-class debut. He was selected in the squad for the T20I series against Pakistan in 2019. In July 2021, he was banned for one year by Sri Lanka Cricket for breach of contract and for giving media interviews without permission from Sri Lanka Cricket.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s early cricket career started as a future student of ‘Royal College Colombo’. From that time in the cricket team, his role was also as a reliable medium pace bowler along with batsman.
He toured Australia in 2009 as part of the Under 19 (U19) team, where Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 154* off 111 balls in a U19 ODI and was Sri Lanka’s highest run-scorer in the entire series.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa was the first Sri Lankan U-19 cricketer to score 150 runs in a U-19 ODI innings.
His score of 154* is the second highest individual score for Sri Lanka in U-19 ODI cricket.
He was also the first Sri Lankan U-19 player to score 1000 youth ODI runs.
Rajapaksa was selected as a batsman for the Under-19 World Cup to be held in New Zealand in 2010.
He scored 253 runs in the entire tournament.
